Gingerbread houses!

We made gingerbread houses the other day. It was awesome! We have been so insanely busy lately but now that the semester has ended we have just a little time to breathe. We have been so fortunate lately to be able to do some fun things as a family. I feel a little bit like I'm trying to make up for everything we didn't get to do last year as a family.

Yes that is frosting on Ava's nose. We kind of got into a frosting war.

We also got to go to Disney on Ice in Raleigh. We kept it a complete surprise from the kids because we thought it would be fun. In hindsight I wish we had told them. I told Ava we were picking her up from school and then driving to Raleigh for an appointment. We promised them we would eat at Sweet Tomatoes (the whole way up there Ava kept saying, "Are we at Mashed Potatoes yet?")

Especially because it was a school night I think the kids were both very tired and they loved the show but they were so taken aback that they didn't really know what was going on. Anyway it was still a blast!

I don't think we made it out of the parking lot before the kids were falling asleep. The show was incredible and I love how interactive it is with the kids. Next time we'll let the kids know in advance so they can be just as excited as we were!
