I feel like Thanksgiving gets totally lost among all the Christmas $$ companies try and make. So I am just re posting so to speak, because I liked this so much. This is the article I stole:
"Maybe it’s because I am getting older. Maybe it’s because the world seems to be spinning faster. Maybe it’s because the ad executives on Madison Avenue need to get a jump on one another. All I know is that the calendar seems to be going by at a frightening pace and holidays are getting blended into each other like ingredients in a smoothie. New Year’s Eve becomes Valentine’s Day which becomes St. Patrick’s Day which becomes Easter which becomes Mother’s Day which becomes Memorial Day and so on. You get the picture. Nowhere is this fast forward of the holiday calendar more evident than it is right now. We just finished Halloween and already people are starting to hum Christmas Carols. I’m no Ebeneezer Scrooge by a long shot but whatever happened to Thanksgiving ? Well I have one thing to say to all those merchants and clueless ad executives already dreaming of holiday $hopping & commercial$….
RESPECT THE BIRD !!!
Christmas themed candy was on the shelves before the Halloween candy had even been discounted.
RESPECT THE BIRD !!!
Starbucks has been using themed cups for several weeks now.
RESPECT THE BIRD !!!

RESPECTO EL BIRDO !!! (sorry, my spanish is rusty)
Thanksgiving is a great holiday. It’s a truly American holiday. It combines food, football & relatives we actually look forward to seeing once a year no matter how much they may make us cringe just for the stories we can tell about them behind their backs once they have passed out from too much wine & turkey. Thanksgiving is not and should not be treated as an afterthought and I am thankful that at least here in our little corner, it is alive & well and celebrated the way it should be.
So to all those folks out there who went from directly from “Trick or Treat” to “Ho Ho Ho !” without stopping so much as to smell the pumpkin pie, I say...
RESPECT THE BIRD !!!
I'm on team Turkey!!!
